Most spirits carry no hechsher at all, and plenty of the ones that do got it because a multinational wanted access to the market. Two small American producers built the supervision into the distillery itself. It's a two-name shelf because that's how many we could verify by agency.

Robert and Sonat Birnecker opened Chicago's first distillery since Prohibition in 2008 and still run it independently. Organic grain from Midwest family farms, milled on site, heart-cut only, aged in 30-gallon new charred American oak. The bourbon and rye pages both state kosher certification under OU supervision. The single-barrel rye is the one to start with.
Why it's worth findingHeart-cut-only distillation throws away most of the run for the sake of the middle, and 30-gallon barrels mean more wood contact per drop. Neither decision makes sense at industrial volume.

Etrog is made from the heirloom citron used ritually on Sukkot; Besamim is a spice liqueur running on vanilla, clove, and cinnamon. Cane-sugar base spirit, no preservatives or artificial flavor. As far as we can tell it's the only commercially bottled etrog spirit in the country.
Why it's worth findingEtrogim get bought by the thousand for one week a year and then mostly candied or thrown out. Somebody had to decide to distill with them.

Add your brand →Unflavored spirits from grain are usually fine in principle, but the questions are in the details: sherry or port casks used for finishing, caramel coloring, flavor additions, and shared equipment. A hechsher means someone traced the barrels and the additives. Most craft distillers never bother, which is why this shelf is short.
Whiskey is made from grain, which is chametz. Even sealed bottles owned by a Jewish household over Passover become prohibited. Passover-certified spirits are made from a permitted base — cane sugar, in Sukkah Hill's case — and supervised through bottling.
The citron is mostly thick, fragrant pith with very little juice, and the flavor is closer to lemon peel and blossom than to lemon flesh. In a liqueur it reads as bright citrus oil rather than sour. It works over ice, in a spritz, or as the citrus element in a cocktail.
Spirits shipping is more restricted than wine and varies a lot by state. Both of these sell through their own sites and through third-party retailers; the checkout will tell you whether your address is serviceable. In closed states, a kosher liquor retailer licensed where you live is the route.
